A road trip to Visit Kate....

Brian and I had a fun weekend planned...he went to Cleveland to play golf with his friend Brye & I went on a road with Lindsay to visit Kate & Molly in DC!
We were in DC for a little more than 24 hours..but we packed in a lot for a fun weekend!
We saw lots of monuments! Went to the zoo and saw the pandas!
And then we went to a Reggae Festival in Virginia..to bring the number of states we had driven through that weekend to SIX:Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia.
It was lots of fun!

So while Brian was in meetings/conferences I dusted of my old and very nice SLR camera (that shockingly uses real film) and went around the island taking artsy photos-from my photography class days in college.....check them out. Still practicing but it was fun! And it is like Christmas morning picking up film at Walgreens, instead of the instant gratification of digital cameras!
The Chicago to Mackinac sailing race started the weekend we were there..so the boats where getting ready for the race boats/teams to arrive.

Our Weekend in Mackinac Island....

After Brian's fishing trip in Canada we met at Mackinac Island..he had a conference there for the weekend!
It was a spectacular hotel and a great weekend!
We drank and ate a lot! The hotel has a dress policy of tie & sport coat & dresses after 6pm! So it was fancy shamncy!

One day we rented bikes and rode around the island...No cars are allowed on the island, only horses, bikes or foot traffic.

Brian's Fishing Trip in Canada....

Brian went to the French River in Canada to go fishing with his Dad & Uncles...he caught a fish (multiple actually)! Great shades babe!!

While Brian was away on his fishing trip, I hosted a wedding shower for one of my best friends Laura!

Cherry Festival & Blue Angel's on Laura's Boat

Laura & her parents were nice enough to ask us to come on their boat for the 2nd Blue Angel's show during the Cherry Festival!

It was tons of fun and right in the middle of all the action!
Brian was brave enough to jump from the top of the boat! Not sure what was worse..the heights or the freezing cold water!

4th of July: Boating & Blue Angels Practice

On 4th of July we got together with friends and had a great time on the water...as you can tell from the boys in the raft above...
All the bathing beauties...

The Blue Angels were practicing for their Cherry Festival Airshows on Saturday & Sunday so we watched them too...

They are awesome! And never get old watching...
It was a great day! We all got lots of sun! Thank you Dean & Tricia and Jeff & Kate for taking us out on your boats!
