Fall Golf......

Fall is here in!! We had a very low key great weekend....went sailing on Friday night...worked around the house (see pics to come of our new dining room color) and then we went golfing on Sunday!
The wildlife was out...the canadian geese where on every hole...
Then we came across a pack of turkeys...plumping up before Thanksgiving!! Speaking of Thanksgiving....my braces come off Nov.12th!! Just in time for Turkey Day!! yipppee

3 Cups and a sad day in the Good Life.....

The other day my mom and I went to see Greg Mortenson (the author of 3 Cups of Tea) speak at the State Theater...it was a very inspiring presentation, as many of you can imagine if you have read the book.

He gave us interesting parting words....an ancient Persian proverb.... "Only when it is dark can you really see the stars".

That has never meant more to me than it does today. It is my last day working with my current employer. On to bigger and better things..but has a result of the economy they had to let me go. So it has been a sad couple days in "the good life"....but needless to say I will bounce back! And will move on to the next adventure..when one door closes another opens!

MSU vs. ND tailgate.................

This past weekend Brian & I kicked off MSU Football season with a tailgate for the MSU vs. ND game!
Our ND friends came in town: newlyweds Libby & Jeremy Pearson and Shannon & Kevin too!
Libby and I started the game in the very top row..nose bleed section
It was a white out.....
Then we moved down to sit with them...to make sure Jeremy and Brian weren't getting in any trouble!!

One of the best parts of the day was finding this LARGE can of Rotel for Libby!! She was in HEAVEN to say the least..and they also had samples of course!!
And last but not least..Brian's new MSU foam finger!! it is great!!!

Saturday night during Vicki & Don's visit we went to the Epicurean Classic! It was a great time!

Lots of food, drinks and people!
By the end of the night we had each found our favorite food, wine and dessert!

Vicki and Don came to visit!!!!! The weekend was so much fun! We took advantage of the dry weather on Friday and took them out to Glen Arbor!
We tried to entice them to do the dune climb :)


It was a great day of seeing Norther Michigan..stopping at the local watering hole, Arts Tavern!
Then we had some friends over for a bonfire & Smores!

Vicki brought with her a "thanksgiving" email written by Brian in 2002..by the end we were all in crying with laughter!
We also met my parents for breakfast on Sunday morning!!
It was a fun weekend despite the "Hurricane rain" like conditions! We can't wait to have them visit again!!

Brian and I joined a few friends and a young professional group here in TC to take a sail...
