Ben....

One of the best parts of the weekend was meeting Ben! Kim & Chris's 6 month old baby! To him we are Auntie Katie and Uncle Brian.....Here the little man in his plaid pants..CUTE!!
Ben gave the best kisses..nice big wet slobbery ones! We LOVED them and so does his mom!
The best part about babies is there tiny everything! Tiny fingers and toes...
Ben was so cute..even when he was disgusted with MSU losing..you still couldn't help but smile at how precious he was! Those darn Spartans..you made Benny cry!
Although just like Ben always says..they will still be #1 to him! We LOVE you Ben and can't wait to see you again SOON!

Taste the Local Difference...

As part of our LGT group Brian & I spent Thursday touring around the Grand Traverse Region, "Tasting the Local Difference"!
We learned all about the many foods and food economies in our local region! It was a great day and very interesting!
This is the community garden at the Grand Traverse Commons (at Brian's work)...
And the artisan bread...
We learned that in addition to our wonderful cherries that come from the cherry capital..we have meats, vegetables, wines and a lot of great local entreprenuers in our community!

At the OSU game with Kim & Chris....

This past weekend we met our friends Kim & Chris in East Lansing for the MSU vs. OSU game!
It was a fun & beautiful day for tailgating! Here is a picture of all the boys..Brian, Kevin, baby Ben and Chris.....
Here is a very cute picture of Ben and his mom Kim...
And this is how we all felt after MSU lost :(.....our sentiments exactly Ben!

Day trip to Blue Lake....

Last week my mom and I took my 90 year old friend, Father Walter Marek, down to Blue Lake Fine Arts camp for the day....
We took him to their annual meeting, he used to be the treasurer and for my mom and I it was a little reminiscent because she had taken me, Shannon and Kevin there once for violin camp when we were younger....

He has a building named after him there....
This is the ceiling of the amphitheater there..where I once played a violin recital....
It was a really fun and interesting day for my mom & I. Walter new all the "hot" spots between TC and Blue Lake...like the old diner in Manistee for dinner and a pit stop for blue berry pie at the farmers market..oh and I can't forget the headcheese stop at the grocery store!

Bench Project....

So the other day, during my "free time" I began this bench project....
I wanted to paint it (it used to be white) and add a cushion....
Brian is not a fan...and we have decided that the blog will determine if we keep the color red..change it to black...or another color??? Tell us what you think (see poll below..)
